These fake reviews date back to mid‑2023, indicating Valve had ample time to detect and remove them but took no action. The reviews often appear in clusters—one account posting a review on multiple titles with similar structure (“nested doll” pattern).

Phrases like “facing formidable adversaries” and “could involve navigating” appear hundreds of times more often in AI content, reinforcing suspicions. If not addressed, the credibility of Steam’s review system may be severely undermined. Valve has yet to implement stronger detection or enforcement measures to tackle this issue.
