EU AI Act: New HR Obligations Starting August 2025

Łukasz Grochal

Starting August 2, 2025, the European Union's AI Act introduces significant obligations for Human Resources departments. Companies must ensure human oversight of AI systems, maintain a risk-relevant event log for at least six months, train employees handling these systems, and inform staff about AI usage affecting them.

Non-compliance can result in fines up to €35 million or 7% of global annual revenue. While SMEs and startups may receive leniency, all organizations utilizing AI are required to adapt to these new regulations.
