OpenAI is set to release GPT‑5 in August 2025, marking a major leap in generative AI. According to multiple reports, GPT‑5 will significantly improve reasoning, accuracy, and long-context understanding. It will also support advanced tool use and memory, making ChatGPT more powerful and agentic.

Sam Altman confirmed that GPT‑5 is “materially better” than GPT‑4.5, with enhanced multimodal capabilities and a better grasp of complex queries. The model may also integrate seamlessly with OpenAI's team-based workflows, offering users higher reliability and smarter assistance for both casual and professional use.
