No Man’s Sky Remnant Brings Gravity Guns And Salvage

Author: Łukasz Grochal

No Man's Sky just kicked off its tenth anniversary year with the Remnant update, the first big patch of 2026 and another sign that Hello Games still is not slowing down support for the game after almost a decade since its 2016 launch. The main addition is the Gravitino Coil, a gravity gun style multi tool upgrade that lets players lift, move and throw large objects, turning environmental debris or cargo into both a utility tool and a weapon against sentinels and other threats. Remnant also leans into salvage and hauling gameplay: wreckage fields and abandoned ships now double as resource opportunities, with players able to collect junk, haul it using upgraded exocraft trucks and recycle it into valuable materials.

A limited time community expedition sends convoys of players to clean up a scrap covered planet, with roles like haulers or ground crew using the gravity gun to clear wrecks and earn rewards such as a new set of vehicle parts and a visually striking, padded steampunk inspired armor set. The update lands on all platforms where No Man's Sky is available and continues the trend of free, content heavy patches that have helped the game reach some of its best player numbers years after release, following 2025 additions like deeper ship customization and other systemic improvements.
