AMD Unveils 32 GB Radeon AI Pro R9700 for $1,250

AMD has launched the Radeon AI Pro R9700, a 32 GB GDDR6, RDNA 4–based workstation GPU aimed at AI and ML workflows. It’s set to release July 23, 2025—initially in workstation systems—with a retail price of $1,250, roughly half the cost of NVIDIA's 24 GB RTX PRO Blackwell cards. The R9700 uses the full Navi 48 die, supports ROCm and major AI frameworks, and offers up to 5× faster inference on select transformer models than NVIDIA’s RTX 5080.

With 128 AI accelerators, 96 TFLOPS FP16 performance, and a blower-style cooler, it targets developers who need high VRAM and open standards on-premises. Soon, add-in board variants from ASRock, Sapphire, ASUS, and others will follow, making it a strong alternative in the AI-pro workstation space.
