OpenAI’s refreshed ChatGPT Images feature is built on a new flagship model that focuses on better control, faster output, and more reliable editing of existing images. It can generate pictures up to four times quicker than before while doing a better job of following detailed prompts, preserving text, logos, and other small elements that are crucial for design or marketing work. At the same time, Adobe and OpenAI have tightened their integration so that Photoshop, Express, and Acrobat can run directly inside ChatGPT as free apps, letting users upload an image and apply edits like color adjustments, background changes, or stylistic effects through simple text instructions.
Technically this shifts some of the heavy lifting to Adobe’s own tools while ChatGPT acts as the control layer, which can appeal to users who want AI convenience but still trust Photoshop’s mature editing pipeline.
Opinions so far are mixed but generally positive, with many seeing the combo as a practical bridge between prompt-based image generation and classic, layer-based retouching, even if professionals will still need manual fine-tuning in complex commercial jobs
