Alkahest – grounded medieval RPG of steel and alchemy

Author: Łukasz Grochal

Alkahest is a first person action adventure RPG set in a grounded, murky medieval world where close quarters combat and environmental interaction are the main hook. You play the youngest son of a minor lord in the kingdom of Kadanor, trying to earn a name for your family by investigating strange goblin raids on the border and navigating fragile feudal politics between three rival houses. Combat focuses on physics driven tricks like kicking enemies off ledges, dropping trees on them or setting them on fire, while using ropes, daggers, relics and more to chain improvised combos together.

Instead of classic spellcasting, the game leans into alchemy as a deep system where you brew substances and then decide whether to throw them, coat weapons, slip them into pockets or drink them yourself, with sometimes unpredictable outcomes. The world is built as semi open locations rather than a huge checklist map, aiming for dense, believable spaces inspired by Dishonored, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and Kingdom Come Deliverance, with branching approaches and a focus on player choice instead of filler.

Alkahest is in development for PC and consoles with Push On as the developer and HypeTrain Digital as publisher, supports full controller play, and currently has no confirmed release date beyond a “to be announced” window.
