Glitre lake

Author: Łukasz Grochal

Aerial photos capture the calm surface of Lake Glitre framed by late autumn colors, with muted gold and rust tones fading into the dark conifer forest. The still water and soft, low light convey a quiet, almost meditative atmosphere, emphasizing the lake’s role as a secluded reservoir in the hills of Finnemarka. Lake Glitre lies at about 358 meters above sea level in Buskerud, Lier, Modum, Drammen county, spanning roughly 3.68 square kilometers in a circular, caldera-like basin surrounded by wooded slopes.

It serves as a key drinking water source for nearby municipalities, which underlines the pristine, untouched feeling visible in the images. From above, the shoreline curves gently, with forest peninsulas and coves adding subtle rhythm to the composition, while the drone perspective reveals the contrast between dark water and the last warm hues of the season.
