Kromlech: Dark Celtic Action RPG Heads to Early Access

Author: Łukasz Grochal

Kromlech is a dark fantasy action‑adventure RPG with rogue‑lite elements, set in a harsh world inspired mainly by Iron Age Celtic culture and classic sword and sorcery tales. You play as Cronach, a lone adventurer trying to survive the last days of a collapsing world where the very fabric of reality is coming apart and even the gods are strangely powerless. The game focuses on an immersive, hand‑crafted sandbox full of secrets, dangerous foes and meaningful choices, letting you decide whether you become a much‑needed hero or an opportunistic menace chasing gold and glory. Combat aims to be grounded and technical, with targeted strikes, armor destruction and a flexible system that rewards timing and positioning rather than button mashing.

Kromlech also leans into meta‑progression and rogue‑lite ideas: repeated “lifetimes” let you unlock upgrades and earn heroic epithets that carry over, making each new run slightly more powerful while the world keeps resetting in an endless cycle of crisis. The developers pitch the project as a modern homage to early‑2000s immersive RPGs, combining old‑school depth with updated visuals, quality‑of‑life features and a strong sense of atmosphere. Kromlech is planned to launch on PC in Early Access on March 5, 2026 via Steam.
