Diablo IV Patch 2.5.0: Major Overhauls & Season 11 Teasers
November 10, 2025Author: Łukasz Grochal

Diablo IV’s 2.5.0 PTR is a significant overhaul, especially for itemization and endgame systems. Tempering now lets you specifically pick the affix you want for your item via recipes, rather than relying on random rolls, giving much more control over crafting. You’re now capped to a single tempered affix, but you can change it as many times as you like. Masterworking functions differently too upgrading Quality now directly boosts an item’s base stats like damage and armor, up to a cap.

Once maxed, you get a Capstone roll that upgrades a random non-Greater affix to a Greater one. Monster AI has been tuned up, making fights more dynamic, unpredictable, and dangerous, with new elite powers, behaviors, and pack compositions. Defense is completely reworked: Armor now reduces all types of damage, resistances are on a rating system, and there’s a clear Toughness stat to help you gauge survivability.

Potions heal by percentage instantly and recharge slowly, and the Fortify system now provides extra healing over time. The new Tower dungeon and leaderboards deliver fresh competitive content, and big changes hit Seasonal progression, replacing Renown with a more challenge-driven Season Rank. Expect new gear, events focused on the Lesser Evils, and plenty of feedback-driven tweaks.

Season 11 is shaping up to fundamentally update D4’s core systems, making everything much more streamlined and tailored to how you want to play.
