FSR 3.1.4 Primes AMD’s Redstone AI Rendering Upgrade

Łukasz Grochal

AMD’s FSR 3.1.4 update introduces important improvements and lays the groundwork for its forthcoming AI-powered FSR Redstone technologies. The update reduces ghosting artifacts on newly disoccluded pixels - improving visual clarity during fast motion - and employs a signed, easily upgradable DLL to streamline future FSR 4 and Redstone integration. It also updates Unreal Engine 5.6 plugins for both FSR 3.1.4 and Radeon Anti-Lag 2, simplifying integration for developers.

FSR Redstone, expected later in 2025, brings neural rendering features including Neural Radiance Caching, ML Ray Regeneration, ML Super Resolution (as part of FSR 4), and ML Frame Generation - targeting enhancements in ray tracing, image quality, and frame rates to rival NVIDIA’s DLSS suite.
