NVIDIA Brings Frame-Gen to RTX 40 via Smooth Motion

Łukasz Grochal

NVIDIA's latest App update, showcased at Gamescom, introduces key features to enhance the RTX experience. Project G-Assist is now more efficient, using 40% less VRAM and extending support to all RTX GPUs with 6GB+ VRAM.

A major addition is the global DLSS override, allowing users to apply DLSS Super Resolution or Frame Generation settings across multiple games simultaneously. The update also brings legacy control panel features like anisotropic filtering into the modern app and introduces a new "Smooth Motion" mode for RTX 40-series owners to reduce stutter. The beta rollout begins on August 19
