Content Update 0.4.0, titled The Last of the Druids, arrives on all platforms on 12 December 2025 alongside the new Fate of the Vaal challenge league, requiring players to start fresh in a new economy while preserving existing early access characters in legacy leagues. The patch introduces the fully playable Druid class, including at least two new Ascendancies such as Oracle and Shaman and over 20 new active skills focused on primal shapeshifting and nature themed gameplay, supported by more than 35 new support gems and extensive passive tree additions in the Druid area. The Fate of the Vaal league adds a build your own temple system in which players fight Vaal themed enemies to earn tiles for a persistent temple layout that can be iteratively expanded to unlock deeper rooms and eventually confront Atziri as a new pinnacle style boss, with tablet crafting capped at four modifiers.
Across the game the update improves CPU performance with multi core optimizations promising around a quarter more frames when CPU bound, overhauls mapping so higher tier maps scale monster effectiveness rather than pack size, and introduces an anti burst mechanic on bosses to smooth extreme front loaded damage. More than 90 skills receive balance passes, at least 11 new uniques are added, and dozens of existing uniques are significantly buffed, while ascendancy granted skills now auto activate, making builds easier to manage.
Developers remain publicly confident but cautious about a full 1.0 launch target at the end of 2026, stressing that final campaign work, additional classes and further endgame reworks still need to land before release.
