Queen’s Domain is a dark retro fantasy action RPG developed by Freshly Baked Games and published by Future Friends Games, designed in a first person perspective with clear influences from King’s Field, early The Elder Scrolls and other old school dungeon crawlers. The player awakens shipwrecked on the cursed Isle of Neasied and sets out to search for a missing father while uncovering the island’s history and the sinister power ruling over it.
Exploration takes place on a single interconnected, maze like island filled with hidden passages, vertical routes and optional areas that encourage careful navigation and backtracking. A key traversal tool is the Legendary Holy Sword Endu, which not only serves as a primary melee weapon but also allows the player to jump and briefly fly between platforms, with upgrades expanding mobility and access to new zones. Combat is real time and stamina based, using charge attacks, weapon specific special moves and a large pool of melee and thrown weapons to manage groups of varied enemies and demanding bosses. The game promises over 50 melee weapons, more than 20 types of secondary throwing weapons and over 100 enemies, minibosses and bosses, alongside character progression through experience, equippable accessories and stat boosts gained from food. A free Steam demo offers roughly an hour of gameplay, including the opening zone, an initial dungeon, multiple weapon options and a first boss encounter.
