Decrepit Mixes Souls Combat With Roguelike Runs

Author: Łukasz Grochal

Decrepit is a dark fantasy first person action game with strong Soulslike and light roguelike elements, focused on escaping a cursed medieval prison castle filled with undead enemies and deadly bosses. It is being developed by Jammerdal Games and published by Three Friends for PC via Steam, with a planned 2026 release and full support for mouse, keyboard and controllers. Gameplay revolves around stamina based melee and magic combat, tight positioning and pattern recognition, while each death strips your gear and sends you back to the dungeons, starting in a different cell but within a persistent castle layout where shortcuts, elevators and secrets stay unlocked between runs.

Players build their character purely through equipment, carrying one weapon, one staff and one armor piece, with archetype sets like Mage, Warrior, Rogue and Shaman granting bonuses and unique abilities, and loot dropping from slain enemies across shifting encounters in an oppressive, mapless medieval environment.

The game blends influences from classic first person action and dungeon crawlers with modern Soulslike design, aiming for a punishing but learnable loop where knowledge of the castle and enemy behaviors is as important as stats or permanent upgrades.
