Revenge of the Savage Planet: Free Demo and Major Update Arrive

Łukasz Grochal

A few months after its launch, Revenge of the Savage Planet a vibrant sci-fi CO-OP metroidvania developed by a 30-person indie team of industry veterans is giving players a chance to test the waters with a free Steam demo starting August 18, offering access to the game’s opening hour without commitment. This release comes paired with a significant free update, adding a much-requested 60 FPS performance mode, a fully customizable photo mode, and around 40 new habitat customization options to expand player creativity.

The developers describe the demo as a way to showcase the result of their four years of effort playfully suggesting it’s “worth two lattes” while hoping it helps generate enough interest to support future DLC. Originally released in May 2025 on PC and consoles, the game combines classic metroidvania exploration with satirical sci-fi storytelling, quirky humor, and seamless co-op functionality.
