New Powers, New Island: Kena’s Scars of Kosmora

Łukasz Grochal

Kena: Scars of Kosmora is a story driven action adventure and a direct sequel to Kena: Bridge of Spirits, again developed by Ember Lab for PS5 and PC with a planned 2026 release window. The game follows an older, more experienced Kena who travels to the mysterious island of Kosmora to investigate a lifelong affliction and confront a powerful spirit that shatters her staff, forcing her to adopt a forgotten form of Spirit Guiding based on elemental alchemy. This shift introduces new elemental abilities, deeper and faster combat, and fresh Spirit Companions whose powers help in puzzles, traversal and challenging boss encounters.

The sequel keeps the lush, animation quality visuals and vibrant natural environments of the original but aims for larger, tightly designed regions with a stronger sense of adventure rather than a fully open world. Overall, it builds on the first game’s mix of exploration, platforming and combat while expanding the scale, combat complexity and narrative focus without radically changing the core formula.
