Next-Gen Sony Handheld May Boast Triple the Speed of Switch 2

Recent leaks suggest Sony is developing a new handheld gaming device, linked to the upcoming PlayStation 6, which could dramatically outpace competitors. According to reports citing reliable leaker Moore’s Law is Dead, the PS6 Portable might offer performance nearly three times higher than Nintendo’s Switch 2 in docked mode, and up to 3.4 times in handheld mode. The device is also set to surpass the capabilities of Xbox Ally X, despite that console already being around 50% more powerful than Switch 2. Sony’s edge is said to come not only from raw hardware speed but also stronger system optimization and developer tools.

Industry insiders expect the PS6 handheld may be priced at approximately $500, possibly rising just below $600, and support backward compatibility with PS4 and PS5 game libraries. These attributes position Sony’s handheld as a potential game changer for the next console generation, though official details remain unconfirmed.
